EMMA MCLEAN
Pilates Teacher

Emma fell in love with group fitness training in her mid teens, quickly learning both the mental and physical benefits of exercise.
After a short career in banking Emma decided to take her passion for exercise to the next level and qualified as a Personal Trainer and group fitness instructor. In 1994 Emma moved to the Far East where her new career took off. She spent several years as a fitness manager at numerous luxury health clubs in Hong Kong and Singapore. Then in 2001 moved to Mauritius for a new and exciting role as Spa Director at the Hilton Mauritius. While there, Emma met her husband and several years later moved to his homeland of Australia where their 2 sons were born.
Emma and her family moved to the UK in 2014 where she began teaching a large variety of fitness classes at The Grove, Watford, and continues to teach there today.
Emma’s curiosity for intelligent exercise and movement therapy finally led to her first Pilates qualification with the world renowned STOTT Pilates in 2014. This enabled her to broaden her client base and introduce Matwork Pilates to the timetables at The Grove and the David Lloyd Club in Bushey. Emma also went on to gain a qualification in Yoga instruction.
Nikki was delighted to welcome Emma to the Encore teaching team in 2023. Since then Emma has gone on to qualify in Reformer instruction with STOTT Pilates, adding another dimension of health and fitness teaching to her long career.
Netball, deep sea diving, triathlons and hiking are just a few activities Emma has explored throughout her life. She says “encouraging and motivating people to live their best life is why I love my job”.
