MATWORK

Pilates Matwork is a low-impact exercise workout performed lying, sitting and standing on the mat. There are hundreds of exercises of varying levels of difficulty where the body provides its own resistance, working against gravity to gain strength and flexibility. There is a focus on developing the core muscles of the trunk and finding a healthy alignment of the body. It is often practised with the use of light equipment such as a stability ball, hand weights, a foam roller, and more, to challenge and/or assist the body.   

Classes are limited to no more than 9 people so that the teacher can ensure everyone receives corrections and feedback to help guide them through the hour.
